FeedTally

Feed delivery records: what each shed took, from which merchant

For owners with more than one shed, buying from two or more merchants. Every docket confirmed in the delivery docket app adds to the totals, and every total has the docket photos behind it.

Coming soon: docket scanning, the delivery log and the dashboard are still being built. Today you can sign up, set up your farms, feed suppliers and feed types, and invite your team, ready for when FeedTally reads its first docket.

The owner's dashboard

  • By feed type: tonnes of PKE, DDG, barley and minerals, with blended loads already split (PKE tracking)
  • By shed: each shed's deliveries kept separate, because each worker's phone remembers their shed
  • By merchant: what came from each feed merchant, in one place instead of two or three docket books
  • By week, month or year

The delivery log

Every delivery is a line in the log with its date, shed, merchant, feed and tonnes, and the docket photo. Corrections are made in the log with the photo beside the entry, so you can always check a number against the paper it came from.

CSV export for your accountant

The whole delivery log exports to a CSV file from the log page, at any time. It opens in Excel or Google Sheets. Use it for your accountant, for your feed budget, for the Farm Dairy Record feed questions in May, or to enter totals into other farm software.

On the phone home screen

FeedTally runs in the phone's web browser and installs on the home screen, so it opens like any other app. There is nothing to download from an app store. It needs mobile signal or wifi to save a delivery.

What it does not do

FeedTally does not measure silo levels. It records what was delivered, which feed it was, which shed it went to and which merchant sent it. If you want to know how full a silo is right now, that is a silo sensor's job, and products such as Levno and SiloSure do it. FeedTally sits alongside them.

Coming soon

Not built yet, and no date: a contract tracker showing contracted tonnes against delivered tonnes for each merchant contract, and a check of the merchant's invoice against the dockets.

Questions farmers ask

Can I get my data out?

Yes, any time. The delivery log exports to a CSV file that opens in Excel or Google Sheets, straight from the log page. For your docket photos, ask Dave and he sends you the full set. If you leave, you get both before anything is deleted.

Who owns my farm's feed records?

You do. We don't sell your records or share them with merchants, Fonterra or anyone else. We use them only to run your account. Your farm's name and your tonnes are never shown to anyone outside your farm.

Does it work without signal?

No, not yet. Saving a delivery needs mobile signal or wifi, and there is no offline mode. If there is no coverage where feed is delivered, take a photo of the docket with the phone camera, then open FeedTally once you are back in coverage and choose that photo to log it.
